Wildcats defeat Logan County 64-37 in final regular season 13th District game

Franklin-Simpson Wildcats held the Logan County Cougars scoreless for nearly seven and a half minutes as they scored 24 straight points, outscored them 42-13 in two quarters for the 64-37 victory on Homecoming night at the F-S Gym on Friday night.

The two teams will play each other again on Mon. Feb. 20th in the opening round game of the 13th District Boys’ Basketball Tournament hosted by Todd County High School.

Three ties and two lead changes occurred in the 1st Quarter as Jalen Briscoer scored eight points for the Wildcats as the game was tied at 11-11. DeMarcus Hogan, Gabe Jones and Sam Mylor each dropped a 3-pointer in the 2nd Quarter as Franklin-Simpson closed the 1st Half scoring 14 unanswered points for a 35-19 lead  at halftime.

The Wildcats opened the 3rd Quarter by scoring 10 straight points, wuth Briscoe scoring six points,  to score 24 straight points during the 2nd and 3rd Quarters. Gavin Dickerson and Kamryn Ray also added baskets for a 53-24 lead. Alan Johnson, JaKai Partinger and Cole

Sharer combined to score 11 points in the 4th Quarter as Franklin-Simpson defeated Logan County 64-37..

Jalen Briscoe led all scorers with a game high of 23 points  as he was the only Wildcat player that scored in double figures. No Logan County player scored in double figures but were led in scoring with nine points each from Colby Collins and Tyler Johnson.

The Wildcats will play at the Warren East Raiders on Tuesday night. WFKN Radio will broadcast the game immediately following the conclusion of the Lady Cats’ game that tip-off at 6:00 p.m.
